What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing new projects unfold and how much people enjoy the finished product. I also love leading such a fantastic group of people that work very hard to make all those projects happen.
Tell us about a work-related success story that you’re proud of.
I don’t have one particular story. However, I am proud to be part of a company that cares for their employees’ success as much as their own.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, thrifting, and refinishing furniture.
Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have.
My husband and I refinish furniture. What started in our basement, grew to our garage and blossomed into a shop we built in our back yard. It keeps us quite busy outside of work, but we do it together, which is the best!
What’s something surprising that not many people know about you?
I am artist when I have the time. I love still life paintings, pen and ink, and various craft related projects where I can utilize those skills.
Do you follow any sports teams?
I’ve learned to love watching basketball and supercross/motocross. Would I watch it on my own, maybe! However, I love watching it with my son and husband. I would say I’m a Sixers fan, and if you know supercross or motocross you know ET3 and AP.
What are some of your favorite local spots to visit?
I love to explore hiking areas anywhere that we might be. However, finding a good thrift store you can spend hours exploring is always fun. I don’t have a particular local favorite but do enjoy frequenting Fashion Cents with my daughter!
What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?
I’ve always wanted to learn to play piano. I’ve been told my whole life, “Wow, you have long fingers, you should play piano.” I just didn’t take that next step.
Tell us about a personal success story that you’re proud of.
My husband started his own business, Steeleway Delivery Service! He was an over-the-road truck driver for 20 years which caused him to be away from his family quite often. Having him at home every day and watching him succeed is truly a blessing!
How has your role evolved since you joined DavCo?
I oversee our promo and apparel departments. My role hasn’t really changed much since I started four years ago. However, I do learn something new every day!
What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why?
The trip to Germany with my daughter, Alli. My Mom is German and all her family is in Germany. I’ve been there several times, but had not had the chance to share that heritage with my family.
What’s your favorite memory from working at DavCo?
We took a trip to Las Vegas last year to attend the PPAI Conference. It was a great time meeting with vendors and getting to know fellow co-workers on another level.
What would you like to learn or improve in the future?
I would like to learn more about Adobe Illustrator or other types of design software.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
God and my husband! Ok, that is two, but couldn’t imagine this life without them!
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?
Wow, that is tough question! I love exploring new places. I can’t pick just one, but if I was forced to, it would probably be Spain. It looks gorgeous!
What does your typical day at DavCo look like?
My office is a revolving door! I have sales, customer service reps, and other co-workers in and out of my office asking questions, needing quotes, bouncing ideas off each other, solving problems, all while invoicing customers and creating catalogs. There is never a dull moment!
Tell us about your family / kids / pets.
I have been married to the love of my life, Jack, for almost 26 years. We have two children. Alli who is 24 and married to the best guy, Kyle, and our son, Jack, who is 18. He is a senior this year and getting ready to head off to Shippensburg University leaving Mom and Dad as empty nesters! I am super proud of both of them!
