What do you love most about your job?
I love the variety of jobs and never know what I will be working on each day. I also love the people I work with and always look forward to the conversations we have.
Tell us about a work-related success story that you’re proud of.
It’s always great hearing positive feedback from customers. Hearing how happy they are with the finished product gives me a boost of confidence to tackle the next job.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love spending time painting, baking, knitting, or working outside in the garden.
Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have.
If you know me well, then you know I have a lot of hobbies (probably too many). I really enjoy dyeing yarn and selling it in some local markets, or I will use it for some personal knitting/crochet projects.
What’s something surprising that not many people know about you?
I have a degree in computer animation, but hated the animation classes and preferred to focus on 3D modeling. I also went to school to be a pastry chef but dropped out after one day.
Do you follow any sports teams?
Phillies.
What are some of your favorite local spots to visit?
Some of my favorite local spots to visit would have to be French Creek & Blue Marsh for pheasant hunting with my Britney Spaniel, or local streams for fishing.
What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?
Scuba diving, spear fishing, woodworking, and pottery.
Tell us about a personal success story that you’re proud of.
I started selling my artwork and hand dyed yarn in local markets around a year ago. That was very scary and overwhelming when I first started out, but it has been a rewarding journey so far.
How has your role evolved since you joined DavCo?
When I first started at DavCo, I was a part of the apparel team and helped to send proofs and do order entry. Now, I’ve transitioned to be a part of both the promo and apparel team working on designing and proofing.
What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why?
My solo cross country road trip in 2023. I drove all the way out to San Diego to spend time with my cousin and his family and then drove back across the country to visit some close family friends down in Charleston, South Carolina. It was an incredible drive across the country, and I fell in love with how beautiful and diverse the landscape is. I got pulled over for the first time ever in Arizona on that trip, but managed to get away without a ticket.
What’s your favorite memory from working at DavCo?
There have been a lot of fun memories so far, but the best has to be the wall of miniature animals that has been slowly growing on a coworker’s desk. It started with one, and then I kept adding them and others joined in. The most recent Christmas party was also a lot of fun, and it was great seeing how everyone is outside of work.
What would you like to learn or improve in the future?
I’d like to continue to learn and get better with jobs that require a lot of designing.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
Jesus!
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?
Either South Korea to test out my Korean language skills or go to the Faroe Islands.
What does your typical day at DavCo look like?
Check up on emails, send proofs, and bug the other departments for work if I don’t have any orders to work on.
Tell us about your family / kids / pets.
I have an amazing mom, dad and older brother. Our house is a small zoo consisting of our eight year old Britney Spaniel Annie, three cats, my two rabbits (Amelia & Wilbur) and a couple of freshwater fish tanks.
Anything else you’d like to add?
It has been such a blessing being able to work here.
