What do you love most about your job?
I enjoy meeting with clients face-to-face and building connections with a wide variety of businesses. I appreciate the opportunity to be on the road rather than confined to the office, as it allows me to engage directly with customers. There is a great sense of fulfillment in knowing that I am contributing to the success of a business, whether through printed materials, promotional products, or branded apparel.
Tell us about a work-related success story that you’re proud of.
There are numerous options to choose from – it’s hard to just pick one. Recently, a customer in the wallpaper manufacturing industry approached me with an unconventional request: creating a toiletry bag using their textile wallpaper. I collaborated with one of my Amish customers, who operates a harness shop and also designs and produces handbags, to bring this idea to life. The project turned out exceptionally well! It was outside of the box, but it helped fulfill a need.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I love spending time with my wife and family – whether it’s traveling somewhere and enjoying an event, or playing games together. I also enjoy spending time with friends, namely a few other couples from a small group at church.
Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have.
I love sports, and enjoy watching sporting events on TV – whether it’s football, baseball, or corn hole.
What’s something surprising that not many people know about you?
I have a bachelor’s degree in keyboard (piano) performance from West Chester University.
Do you follow any sports teams?
Oh yes. I’m a Philly guy all the way: Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, Flyers.
What are some of your favorite local spots to visit?
My wife and I live in the Mount Joy area, and like trivia. We’ll hit some local restaurants for their trivia nights. I also love the area we live in. It’s close to the mountains, beaches, and big cities. I enjoy hitting up all those places during the course of the year.
What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?
I love the idea of sportscasting: doing play-by-play or color commentating during a game. I always thought it would be cool to broadcast a game on TV or radio.
Tell us about a personal success story that you’re proud of.
I’m going back almost 30 years to my college days. In order to receive my degree, I needed to perform a senior recital. I spent the entire year preparing for the biggest moment of my college life including hundreds and hundreds of hours in the practice room – all for one hour of music. All my piano teachers from childhood through college were there, as well as family and friends. The recital was a success. The feeling of accomplishment was overwhelming. I’ll never forget it.
How has your role evolved since you joined DavCo?
I started with a small customer base almost 20 years ago. Since then, my role as a salesman has taken on a heavier burden, so to speak. With larger and higher priced jobs comes more of a responsibility to my customers: to make sure everything is produced correctly, and to the best of DavCo’s ability. I am responsible for my customers’ success when they come to me for help, and I take that very seriously.
What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why?
One year, my wife and I had an anniversary trip to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. The sheer beauty of the canyon and surrounding nature was something to behold.
What’s your favorite memory from working at DavCo?
Many of my favorite memories at DavCo come from our Christmas parties/banquets. From the employee involvement in games, to the great food I’ve had the opportunity to eat – it’s a great time.
What would you like to learn or improve in the future?
I’m constantly looking to maximize my time more efficiently, especially when it comes to sales. I want to continue to expand my customer base in the most efficient and smart way.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
My wife.
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?
Italy.
What does your typical day at DavCo look like?
I usually hit the office in the morning, where I take care of as much paperwork as possible. I’ll usually then head out to see customers in the afternoon – whether I’m delivering a finished project, and/or consulting with a customer on a current or upcoming job.
Tell us about your family / kids / pets.
My wife Nikki and I have been married for 26 years. I have 3 kids: My daughter Kyla (28) who is married to Tyler, my son Daegan (23) and Ella (23). Our dog Sofie is a Shichon (Shih Tzu/Bichon mix) and is 13 years old.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Nope.
