What do you love most about your job?
I’ve always been a creative person – from a very young age – so finding a career where I have an outlet to use that creativity daily and make things look nice is great. Working at a place like DavCo with cool, like-minded people is an added bonus!
Tell us about a work-related success story that you’re proud of.
We had the opportunity to work on a product catalog for a local business, and it was the first time this customer had ever done a project like this. The salesman, customer and I worked together to finish the project and a couple months later, the customer came in and wanted to order more because when he mailed them out, they were so effective he could hardly keep products in stock! His wife made us homemade donuts. They were a hit in the office!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
It seems like my to-do list is never-ending, ha ha! I almost always have some project in progress, whether that’s DIY building something, sewing, quilting, or helping a friend. Twice a week during the school year, I also serve at my local youth center helping with high school programs and 4th & 5th grade programs where we play games and share the love of Jesus.
Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have.
I don’t know if it’s particularly interesting to other people, but I do quilt. I currently only hand quilt, but machine piece. I typically stick to more modern patterns versus the traditional patterns most people think of when they think of Lancaster County quilting though, ha ha. Currently working on my first quilt pattern.
What’s something surprising that not many people know about you?
I did not go to college or do any other schooling past high school. All of my design knowledge is self-taught.
Do you follow any sports teams?
I’m originally from Central/Upstate New York so, go Giants!
What are some of your favorite local spots to visit?
Latte Luv gets a shoutout because I go there at LEAST once a week, but pretty much any ice cream place or coffee shop.
What’s something that you’ve always wanted to try or learn?
Longarm quilting and throwing pottery.
Tell us about a personal success story that you’re proud of.
Last year I submitted an original quilt to the Modern Quilt Guild 2025 QuiltCon show (which is a large, extremely competitive, international quilt show) and out of 2,269 quilts, mine was one of 460 that was juried in to hang in the show in Phoenix, AZ in February. I was able to fly out and attend the show to see my quilt hanging among the incredible award-winning quilts and see all the “famous” people in the modern quilting community. It was really cool!
How has your role evolved since you joined DavCo?
I started out as the Design Project Coordinator, overseeing the large annual projects like the Lancaster County Business Directory and now I am a Graphic Designer.
What’s the best trip you’ve ever been on and why?
My most recent trip out to Arizona was a lot of fun! It was my first solo trip, so it was a great experience for me personally. Also, Phoenix in February? Beautiful! Driving in Phoenix? Terrifying.
What’s your favorite memory from working at DavCo?
We do a lot of fun things at DavCo! Let’s see, we’ve had Fry-days, where we have fresh fried French fries “magically” appear in the breakroom; one time we had an ice cream truck show up in the parking lot; the annual Chinese lunch; and taco potluck!
What is one thing you can’t live without?
Definitely Jesus, without Him I don’t know what I would do. And probably coffee, I mean, I probably could live without that, but I’d be sad…
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be?
I would love to explore more of our country. Especially out west, maybe Hawaii (this thought especially occurs to me around Jan-Feb, ha ha!)
